This is to enable pre-service set up crews an opportunity to stay indoors.
If a Typhoon Signal 8/ Red Rainstorm warning or above is issued after 8am a verbal announcement to people already at church will be made to go home if it is safe to do so. In addition, an email will be sent as well as a post made on the DBICC website that the service has been cancelled.
An email will be sent on Saturday evening reminding the congregation that a typhoon is possible highlighting the communication process for any potential church service cancellation.
To summarise, we will follow the Hong Kong Observatory recommendations at all times and we encourage everyone to follow the usual information channels as well as using their own good judgement. Our desire is that we are all safe in any significant weather event.
