Is our church leaving the EFCC?
No, we will continue to be part of the EFCC association of churches, but instead of being legally connected as one big entity, member churches are being directed by the EFCC to obtain stand-alone status.
What does the EFCC say about our church name?
The EFCC is not concerned with what our name is, as long as it includes "EFCC" in the official name. This is actually listed as one of three conditions to be a church with the "blessing and approval of the denomination." For example, if the church wanted to go with "Christ's Church" as the future name, that would become "EFCC - Christ's Church" or "Evangelical Free Church of China - Christ's Church" going forward. Obviously, we don't currently use that part of our name on a daily basis, as most of us just call our church "DBICC."
