As we head into the Easter season we are reminded of the most important and emotional weeks on the calendar. This Sunday we celebrate the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest heaven!" Matthew 21: 9 Only Jesus knew that in just a few days He would be betrayed and suffer a painful death. He also knew this would be followed by His miraculous and glorified rising from the dead. This week marks the end of the old covenant and beginning of the new covenant. The new covenant is not just for the Jewish people but for all of us. What a difference a week makes! In the sermon last Sunday, Vincent Kan explained the Gospel of John chapter 2 in simple terms (if you missed it you can watch on our YouTube channel). · Jesus came to Earth to die for us. · Jesus’ resurrection proves He is God. · Jesus came so we can be part of His body and we can be called as God’s sons and daughters. So, this week we should remember the life and death and life again of Jesus. But we should also remember that Jesus came so we can be part of the body of Christ. DBICC is part of the body of Christ. Your prayers, your devotions, your love toward one another are all part of the body of Christ. During Easter, we use eggs as a symbol of this new life, a symbol of Christ’ resurrection. This coming Saturday afternoon we are hoping the children will find 900 eggs in Siena Central Park. This is meant to be a happy time. A happy time that remembers the suffering but also celebrates the joy and new life we can receive by being part of the body of Christ. Feel free to join us Saturday afternoon if you have children or just want to particulate in the joyful occasion. There will be plenty of snacks and goodies no matter your age. Invite a friend as well!
